The Toronto Real Estate Board's activities are guided by a 16-Member Board of Directors which is elected annually to serve the interests of all Members.

Tom Lebour, MVA is a Broker with Royal LePage Real Estate Services and has been a REALTOR® for 33 years. Mr. Lebour has contributed to a number of TREB Committees including Government Relations, Communications and Finance. Most recently, he served as Chair of the Finance Committee and the Condominium Task Force. He also contributed to the External Communications Task Force during the last term. Mr. Lebour currently serves on RECO's Discipline and Appeals Committees, OREA's Communications Committee, as well as CREA’s National Ad Campaign Task Force. A TREB Director since 2004, Mr. Lebour is also a 2003 Former President of the Mississauga Real Estate Board.

William E. (Bill) Johnston, M.A., LLB is a Broker with Royal LePage Your Community Realty. A Member since 1982, Mr. Johnston has long been involved with TREB, having served as a Member of the Board of Directors for six terms and as Past Chair of the Government Relations, By-Laws, MLS and Education Committees. Most recently, he served as Vice Chair of the Finance Committee and as Chair of TREB’s Green Task Force. Holder of a Masters degree and a Law degree, Mr. Johnston brings to TREB experience as an author, educator and Member of the Law Society of Upper Canada.

Maureen O’Neill, B.A.
is a Broker/Manager with Bosley Real Estate Ltd., with 28 years of experience in organized real estate. A recipient of two of the Ontario Real Estate Association’s highest merit awards for writing and education, Ms. O'Neill is a former TREB executive whose responsibilities included Education, Communication and Public Relations. A Director for 9 years, she has served as Chair of Government Relations, Communication, Education, Professional Standards and many other Committees. Ms. O'Neill holds a B.A. in Industrial Psychology.

Stuart Braund, West Non-Brokerage Director, is a Broker with Sutton Group Professional Realty Inc. who has been actively working with Government on behalf of REALTOR® interests for more than 13 years. A former director of the Brampton Real Estate Board, Mr. Braund Chaired its Government Relations Committee for eight years. He has also served on the Ontario Real Estate Association’s Government Relations Committee. Mr. Braund has made an outstanding contribution to TREB’s Government Relations efforts, serving on its Government Relations Committee for more than a decade, most recently as Chair. In 2000, Mr. Braund was presented with TREB’s prestigious Committee Service Award.

C. Anne Briscoe, FRI, CMR, East Non-Brokerage Director, is a Broker with Century 21 Briscoe Estates. A REALTOR® for more than 40 years, Mrs. Briscoe previously served on the Board of Directors of the Toronto Real Estate Board from 2001 to 2005, the Ontario Real Estate Association from 2006 to 2008 and the Durham Region Association of REALTORS®. She is also a former President of the Durham Region Association of REALTORS®. Mrs. Briscoe has been a dedicated Committee and Task Force Member for a number of years. She has served on the Government Relations Committee, as Vice-Chair of the Finance Committee and as Chair of the Buyer Registry Task Force, Membership and a several Professional Standards Committees. Most recently, Mrs. Briscoe Chaired the Quality of Life Task Force. Mrs. Briscoe established the first Century 21 franchise in Ontario in 1977.

James (Jim) Burtnick, Central Non-Brokerage Director is a Broker with Sotheby’s International Realty Canada. He has been active in the real estate profession since 1997. Throughout the past two terms Mr. Burtnick has served on TREB’s Government Relations Committee, which continues its efforts to have the Toronto Land Transfer Tax repealed. During the last term, he also served on two new TREB Task Forces: the Green Task Force and the Condo Task Force. A Past President and Director on the Board of his condominium residence, Mr. Burtnick is a proponent of heightening the profile of the condominium market to reflect its growing significance in Toronto.

John (Jerry) England, Director-at-Large, is a Broker with Re/Max Aboutowne Realty Corp. A former President of the Toronto Real Estate Board, Mr. England is an Honourary Life Member who has been a REALTOR® for 29 years. In addition to previously serving on TREB’s Board of Directors for 10 years, Mr. England has served on the Board of Directors of the Ontario and Canadian Real Estate Associations, the Mississauga and Oakville/Milton Real Estate Boards, the Real Estate Council of Ontario and the Canadian Chapter of the International Federation of Real Estate (IREF/FIABCI). He is also a former President of IREF/FIABCI. Mr. England has leant his insight to more than 120 Committees, serving as Chair of the MLS, By-laws, and Government Relations Committees and several Task Forces. Most recently, Mr. England served as Chair of TREB’s Young Professionals Task Force.

Paul Etherington, Director-at-Large, is a Broker/Manager with Re/Max Rouge River Realty Ltd. A Member for 25 years, Mr. Etherington has made numerous contributions to the Toronto Real Estate Board. He has served on the Board of Directors for five previous terms and has actively participated on a number of Task Forces and Committees including the Finance, Professional Standards, Education, By-Law and Communication Committees. Most recently he served a third term on the Finance Committee.

Heather A. Fuller, Central Brokerage Director, has worked in the real estate profession for 17 years, and is the Broker of Record at Martin & Meredith Limited. Ms. Fuller has contributed to a number of TREB Task Forces including the TorontoMLS Implementation Task Force, the Reserves Task Force, and the Dues Task Force, on which she served as Chair. As well, she has served as Chair of TREB’s Finance Committee and most recently, as Chair of TREB’s Education Committee. She has also served on the OREA Standards Forms Committee for two years and the RECO Education Committee for several terms. Ms. Fuller has received TREB’s Committee Service Award in recognition of her many contributions.

Karen Gerrard, North Non-Brokerage Director is a Broker/Manager with Royal LePage Your Community Realty. A REALTOR® for 35 years, Ms. Gerrard was the broker/owner of her own brokerage for a decade and has worked as a Manager with Royal LePage for the past nine years. Ms. Gerrard previously served on the York Region Real Estate Board’s Professional Standards Committee and contributed to TREB in the same area, as Vice Chair. She has also been actively involved in charity fundraising for a number of years and is currently serving as a Co-chair for the York Region Breast Cancer Friends.

Ann Hannah, West Brokerage Director, is the Broker of Record/ Owner of Sutton Group Old Mill Realty Inc. A TREB Member for 35 years, she brings to the Board considerable experience and dedication to the profession. Ms. Hannah has contributed to a number of TREB Task Forces and Committees including the Finance, Professional Standards Appeals, Education and MLS Committees. Most recently, she served as Chair of the Member Communications Committee. Ms. Hannah has also provided support to the Real Estate Council of Ontario, serving on its Discipline and Appeals Committee for five years.

Lydia Ingles, Director-at-Large is a Sales Representative with Century 21 Heritage Group Ltd. A REALTOR® for 22 years, she has made contributions to Committees at the York Region Real Estate Board, the Ontario Real Estate Association and TREB in numerous areas including Government Relations, Communication, Education, Membership and Finance. Most recently, Ms. Ingles served on TREB’s Government Relations Committee and is currently serving on OREA’s Communication Committee. She is also a Past President of the York Region Real Estate Board.

Garry Lander, Chair of the Executive Council Commercial Division is a salesperson and Vice President with DTZ Barnicke Limited, Brokerage. A TREB Member for more than 20 years, Mr. Lander has been actively involved in the Executive Council Commercial Division for more than a decade. He has made numerous contributions on sub-committees such as those for the Merit Award, Insight Magazine and the Advanced Rough Guide to Construction Costs. Mr. Lander has also served as the Commercial Representative on TREB’s Finance Committee. Most recently, he served as Chair of TREB’s Professional Standards Hearing Committee. Currently, Mr. Lander also serves on the Ontario Commercial Council and on the Canadian Commercial Council.

 

David Pearce, East Brokerage Director, is the Broker of Record/Owner of Re/Max Rouge River Realty Ltd., overseeing a team of 175 people in four locations in Toronto, Ajax and Whitby. Mr. Pearce has been a TREB volunteer for the past 25 years, having served on numerous Committees including the By-law, Finance, MLS, Arbitration and Professional Standards Committees. Mr. Pearce was a Member of TREB’s Board of Directors from 1998 to 2006 and served as President of the Toronto Real Estate Board from January 2001 to June 2002. During his Presidency, Mr. Pearce spearheaded a number of important changes, including a provision that allowed every Member the right to vote and the migration from TREBNET to TorontoMLS. An Honourary Life Member of the Toronto Real Estate Board, Mr. Pearce is also the recipient of two prestigious awards from Re/Max Ontario Atlantic Canada Inc. Currently, Mr. Pearce also serves as a Director at the Real Estate Council of Ontario.

Joseph C.W. Shum, North Brokerage Director, is the Broker of Record at Mid-land Group Realty Inc. and has been a TREB Member for 20 years. He is actively involved in a wide range of real estate organizations including the Real Estate Institute of Canada, CREA, RECO and FIABCI, and has served as Director of a number of organizations in the Chinese community including the Chinese Professionals Society of Ontario and the Association of Chinese Canadian Entrepreneurs. Mr. Shum has also contributed to numerous TREB Committees. He has served as Chair of the Professional Standards Hearing, By-Law and Finance Committees.

Richard Silver, Director-at-Large, is a Sales Representative with Bosley Real Estate Ltd. and has been a Member of TREB for 30 years. A former Community Service Award recipient, Mr. Silver is a committed volunteer who offers valuable street savvy insight into the real estate business. He has served on TREB’s Board of Directors for four previous years and has made contributions in a number of capacities, including as Chair of the MLS and Communications Committees. Mr. Silver also currently serves on the CREA MLS & Technology Council. He teaches Social Media, Blogging and its application for REALTORS®.
